Huntley Lodge at Big Sky

Big Sky, Montana

We will welcome you at Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport.  Once everyone has arrived, we will have a late lunch and travel to Big Sky through the scenic Gallatin Canyon.  After checking in to Huntley Lodge, we participate in an outdoor activity which is TBD. 

-On Day 2, we will complete a site inspection of all the Big Sky Resort lodging options.  You will learn that Big Sky is Montana's premier winter skiing destination, offering downhill and cross-country skiing and snowboarding. In the summer, Big Sky is a popular summer wedding venue.  We will travel to the town of West Yellowstone to enter the west side of Yellowstone National Park.  While in Yellowstone.  We will be making several stops along the way to see multiple geysers, mudpots, steam vents, and any wildlife out and about on our way to the Old Faithful geyser.   At Old Faithful you will enjoy a self-guided tour of the Old Faithful Lodge and the interactive Visitor Center.  At Old Faithful there are multiple gift shops, markets if you are looking for a souvenir to take home.  Lunch will be on your own and you will have multiple dining options to choose from.  We will return to Huntley Lodge.  Dinner will be provided.  

-Day 3 you will have breakfast on your own and we will check out of Huntley Lodge.

Fairmont Hot Springs

Anaconda

-We will depart Huntley Lodge and travel to Butte.  While Butte is currently nationally known for its St. Patricks Day celebrations, Butte was originally a mining camp. It became one of the biggest copper boomtowns in the country.  The town, and much of the territory and later, state, were run by three "Copper Kings".  You can still see the copper smelter standing in the distance on the way to Anaconda.

 

-You will take a guided walking tour of historic downtown Butte and lunch will be provided after the tour.  From Butte we will take a short 20-minute drive to Fairmont Hot Springs. The resort offers a wide variety of activities from skiing at Discovery Basin to an 18 hole, 150-acre golf course.  And don't forget the hot springs for soaking after a long day!

-Once checked in, we will complete a site inspection with the Sales Coordinator.  The property is a key wedding venue as well as one of the biggest convention properties in the state. After the inspection you will have an evening of leisure.  Dinner will be on your own.

-Morning breakfast, day 4, will be on your own. This will be the conclusion of your Yellowstone FAM trip.  We will have an early morning departure to leave for Bozeman and the airport for you to return home.

Polson

-On day 1, we will meet you at the Missoula International Airport From Missoula we will travel north through the Flathead Valley, and if time allows, we will take some side trips.  First, we will stop at the Garden of 1000 Buddhas in Arlee, as well as the St. Ignatius Mission Parish in St. Ignatius.  The mission was founded in 1854 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 

 

-When we get to Polson, we will check in to Kwataknuk Resort, which sits on the edge of Flathead Lake.  At 30 miles long and 16 miles wide, it is the largest freshwater lake in Montana.  Lunch will be provided, and you will have the afternoon to relax on the gorgeous patio or explore the resort and casino.  The beautiful grounds make this property a sought-after wedding location.   In the evening we will head out for a sunset cruise on the lake, taking in the wide-open lake and mountain views.  Dinner will be at your leisure.  

- Morning 2, breakfast will be on your own before we check out.and say goodbye to Kwataknuk by 9:00 am and continue up the Flathead Valley, through Kalispell, to Whitefish.

-Along the way to Whitefish, between Polson and Kalispell, you will see cherry orchards. The Flathead Cherry is famous and, depending on the weather, they may still be in season when we visit. 

-Whitefish is home to Whitefish Moutain Resort, where movie stars are known to vacation when they want to hit the ski slopes.  Whitefish is just over 25 miles to points of boat entry onto Flathead Lake as well as the west entrance of Glacier National Park. The area is home to many breweries and wineries. 

-Once we check our bags at Grouse Mountain Lodge and have a quick lunch (provided) we will make our way to Glacier National Park.  Glacier should be on everyone's Bucket List! The pristine beauty is breathtaking.  We will head to McDonald Lodge, the most famous lodge in the park.  You will meet your guide at 2 p.m. for a Red Bus tour which will take you up the Going To The Sun Road and to the top of Logan Pass.  Your driver will narrate the drive with park history and anecdotes.  

-Dinner is not provided but we will provide transportation if the group would rather eat off-site from the resort. 

-Morning 3, breakfast is on your own, but transportation can be arranged to Montana Coffee Traders, which is a local coffee roasting company that sells nationally.  They have three retail locations offering coffee, pastries, and breakfast items.  Their menu can be found online.  

 

-You will have a leisurely morning to enjoy the resort and pack.  At 11:30 we will have a site inspection to learn about the Grouse Mountain Resort as well as the other properties the company owns, including properties in Canada.

-After our site inspection we will take the afternoon to explore the area.  We will go to Whitefish Mountain to view the summer activities, including an Alpine Slide (bobsled track), ziplines, and a scenic lift to a nature center. Hiking trails and a bar are at the top of the mountain.

-Dinner will be provided.  

Day 4

Unfortunately, all great things end.  We will drop guests off at Glacier International Airport in Kalispell or return you to Missoula Internation Airport.  Our last drop-off will be no later than 10:30 am.  If you would like transportation to Bozeman, it can be arranged as we will be returning that direction to go home.
